  1. visit the local tip, there's always bird life at the tip!

i know it doesnt sound great, but trust me,go to the tip and you will find birds!

  2. The Blue Mountains is a great spot for birdwatching; of course, the train ride up there is pleasant as well. Royal National Park, Lane Cove NP and Sydney Harbour NP are also quite accessible.

But even just the average backyard or neighbourhood park in Sydney will normally contain many species, from honeyeaters and wrens to parrots (I had a white-faced heron visit my yard a couple of months ago), particularly if there are no cats around and some thick vegetation.

"http://birdsinbackyards.net/" is a great website, with mp3 call files to help with identification, information and distribution maps.

    Happy twitching!

  3. Hi globetrotter! It's littlegypsy! hehe...

Best place is Mt Kuring-gai National Park, I actually lived there last year.... it's just after Hornsby (10km)... Alot of birdwatchers go out there to, well, watch birds... it's a really beautiful place!

Its neighbouring suburbs are Berowra to the north, and Mount Colah to the south.

It borders Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park where there's several bushwalks, including the Great North Walk and a path to Apple Tree Bay.

Tweet! Hope this helps! : )
