The best place for lunch is:

LA VITA, George Square (across the road from Greggs).

It is a wonderful Italian, you'd really love it and it's not too expensive. I'm a Glaswegian but living in London. I think I miss La Vita most of all. Please go, you'll not be disappointed!.

Tiger Tiger in Glassford Street do really nice, reasonably priced lunches. You could also try La Tasca on Renfield Street. They do beautiful tapas at lunchtime for only £10 for as many as you can eat. I can highly recommend the ribs and garlic mushrooms. Making me hungry now!
