  4. The two best places I've tried in Montreal were Bronte and Le Jolifou.  Bronte is your standard expensive, French-Canadian fancy restaurant - but it is really freaking good, although they do enjoy using foam a little too much in their dishes.  Le Jolifou is a more quirky, unique restaurant.  It's French-Mexican fusion, moderately priced, and delicious.  The only problem is it is a bit far from the touristy areas of Montreal so if you don't have a car you may have to take a $15-20 cab ride to get there.

  5. My God!  Your question is like asking what is the best place to eat in Paris, or San Francisco, or Sydney or any other of the world's great gustatory cities.

  6. For lst class dining at a very reasonable price with excellent service, the BONAPARTE (with accompanying decor) located on rue St-Paul in Old Montreal.  French cooking, excellent chef, excellent service at unbelievable (we had the table d"hote---one price includes appetizer, main dish and desert)
