I know in the movies, they leave their unwanted babies on the steps of the church or orphanage, but I thought it might be different today. Where's the best place to leave my unwanted baby?

  1. I think if you created the baby step up and be a man (or woman) about it and take care of it. And whatever you do DO NOT GET AN ABORTION.

  2. give it to Brad  Pitt  and Angelina Jolie, or you can give it to me ;-)

  3. church, hospital, firefighter station, police, etc

  4. fire station. my husband is a firefighter and they have to learn all about that stuff. they take it from there and no questions will be asked.

  5. Fire department or a church, they will take them into custody and adoption will be in their future.

  6. The have it where you can drop a newborn off at any fire station or hospital with no question asked

  7. in ct, I think there is law that allows unwanted babies to  be left at the hospital with out being arrested.. Maybe other states have the same procedures. if you don't want your child, many others would ....

  8. Definitley the hospital.

  9. Orphanages are illegal in the U.S.A. So NO ONE in this country can drop a baby at an orphanage here. But many hospital's (like the one I work in) are "baby safe havens" where a mother can drop off her Newborn and no one will ask her why. You would have to call the hospital first to find out if they do participate in the baby safe haven program. The only thing I don't like about the program is the baby would have to be 7 days old or younger with is not enough time for a mother to make that type of decision.

here is link to see if your state participates in the safe haven program.

  10. Any hospital or police station.

  11. I'm glad this is hypothetical. Leave it at the hospital or orphanage.

  12. there are different laws in different states but i know in cali within 72 hours of being born you can drop off at any police or firestation or any hospital.

  13. In Californian there are so many Baby safe surrender sites like the fire or police stations, some groceries stores hospital er’s and I think this is up to the child is 1yr. There was a story in the news these past few days that really upset me that a homeless man found a baby who seemed about 6mth crawling along the streets and they parents weren’t around. It was so sad and that they can’t find her family

  14. By law it is still considered abandonment if you do not physically hand the baby to someone.  However, the legal system will take it easier on you if you leave it somewhere obvious and make the phone call.

The hospital is the best choice b/c then the baby will receive medical care right away.  However, the fire department and police department are also able to take an unwanted baby off your hands.

If this is not hypothtical look into different adoption agencies as people looking to adopt prefer new borns and can help make sure the mother and new baby get proper care.  Also in the long run the mother will feel better about herself b/c she truly provided for the baby by getting proper care and new home even though she herself did not want to keep it.

    Good Luck!

  15. You can leave an unwanted baby anywhere but the "best place

to leave an unwanted baby" without going to jail is someplace like

a hospital, police station or fire station

  16. WITH HIS MOTHER!

    WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER

TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST,IN HIS FATHER'S GROIN!

    BUT IF YOU MUST,

    HOSPITAL

    DEPT. SOCIAL SERVICES

    DEPT OF FAMILY & CHILDREN

    POLICE

SOMETIMES LIFE SUCKS, BUT DON"T PASS IT ON!

                                           "BRILLIANT"!!!!

  17. Hospital. That is the only safe place to legally leave an unwanted newborn.

EDIT: Are you kidding me? 2 thumbs down for an honest adn true answer. You people are a bunch of....oh I can't say it or I will get more!!!

  18. weird question, but I would say my doorstep! Ok, seriously, I've heard that you can leave them at the hospital, no questions asked. I really don't know though, I'd never give my babies away. I would love to put a sign in my front yard telling people that they can leave me their babies, just so they don't abort them or leave them in a trash can somewhere.

  19. The orphanage or hospital. Leave the baby anywhere else and expect to spend some time in jail.

Or if you're smart have an abortion before you actually have the baby. That will save you the trouble of what to do with it.

  20. In some states you can call your local fire departments, emergency rooms, and police stations to set up an annonymous drop off. Where ever you decide to do it, PLEASE be sure that a trained professional will be there immediately to care for the child.

  21. HOSPITAL OR POLICE STATIONS ANY "SAFE PLACES" THEY USUALLY HAVE BIG YELLOW SIGNS ON SIDES OF BULIDLINGS LIKE THE FIRE HOUSE BEST WAY IS ADOPTION IF YOU DONT WANT IT OF COURSE THAT WAY YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY bout even leaving the hopsital with the baby

  22. At the adoption agency!

  23. there is a law, at least in NY, that you can leave your child @ a firehouse, police station or hospital, if you feel you cannot take care of them

  24. At the hospital, a fire station, basically anywhere that the kid would be found and cared for within a relatively short period of time.

  25. i would life it at firestation,or hospital,or just call children and familys,if you dont want your babe you should have lift him or she in the hospital,ad then the state work would come au have and place the baby in foster home and you never see your baby again,,why did your have baby .when you know you cant care for the baby ,dose that make since to you,and in the long run you with you have never gave up your baby ,good luck,,

  26. Actually, you really should call the authorities.

Adoption, orphanage and any church will guide you through this difficult time with options that you are probably not even aware of. I've heard Wal-Mart made the news with a story of an abandoned baby. Sad reality for a newborn.

  27. You only have a certain amount of days to leave a baby at a safe haven, you can leave the baby with the fire station or at a hospital. Please make sure who ever is going to do this does the right thing and does not decide to hurt this child or just leave it any where. Any safe haven the baby is taken too will not ask the person any questions so tell them don't be afraid. If this person can please really think about keeping this baby there are so many babies without parents in this world. They are hard to deal with but well worth it in the long run.  Take Care

  28. The hostpial! It's the only place it's actually legal to leave a child. Anywhere else, it's child abuse/neglect.

  29. Since every area has their own policies I think you should call your labor & delivery ward at the hospital or birthing center and ask them. Some hospitals even have this SafeDrop Box. You don't have to enter the hospital you place the baby in an ultra-secure and temperature controlled box, then you close it in and push a button. You have 3 minutes to leave the area before an alarm is activated within the newborn unit. A professional comes out to retrieve the baby and social services are called from there.

If this isn't hypothetical, though, please call an adoption agency and an obstetrician. Get yourself and your baby professional care and a support system.

  30. I dont know where you are from....but here in california we have this...

    http://www.babysafe.ca.gov/

Its the safe surrender law. You can drop off a baby at anytime day, night, holiday etc....and theres no questions asked.

If you dont have anwhere you know of or any law like this....i'd suggest a hospital...fire station or police station.

    :)

  31. Why are you even asking this question? Contact an adoption agency BEFORE the baby is even born to set up an adoption. If you leave your baby somewhere and something happens to it, you WILL be held responsible. Do you want to risk going to prison for murder or neglect? I don't care if this question is hypothetical or not! Why would you even ask such a thing?
