Where's the best place to live...?

Which country in the world is the best place to live considering the cost of living, quality of life, good climate, services, government balance, low crime rates and anything else you can think of? It may seem like we are thinking of an imaginary place, but please consider a country with the majority of these things.

Perhaps New Zeland (however, this is far from England - where we live now and would be difficult to see family fairly regularly) or Ireland or Holland?

Thanks x

  1. You would never recognise it even if one existed. England for Me.

  2. The best way to live is:

Be born in a 1º world nation and keep moving from a country to another, once you do not get any restriction in ger visas.

I just stay here in Brazil, like a prisioner becouse everytime we arryve in a foreing airport we're treated like we were crimnous... I've been in England for 4 monthes and I know wath I'm saying.

  3. vilage

its organic , clean , pure ,....quite

  4. Ireland has a very good quality of life (and is predominately English-speaking), as does Sweden. Norway is also good, but harder to get into as it's not in the EU.

  5. you don't wanna live on Mars. its just waaaay too hot. Stick to Earth.

PS try a bit of this and a bit of that and see where you liked it best.

  6. United States of America, just ask the illegals coming in by the millions.

  7. No way in london coz the whole bus fare and things like that are rising along with tax.

Sweden's the best place to live. I lived there when i was younger and the people there are nice and everything. it's a geat social pace and stuff. Not to mention the fact that you get paid when you're off. And the streets are clean and everything, It's stress free and great. I'm gonna go back after i finished my studies here in london, but that times far off seeing as i'm still only a kid...

yeah, so try sweden and a place i sweden called Jonshopping, it's where i used to live. the hpuses are beautiful and the pays great with afordable houses.

  8. France!!!

Just watch Michael Moore's new documentary Sicko.

The French Government is just way too generous.. ;]

  9. Sweden or Denmark.

Free healthcare, and people there are in general the happiest.

High taxes though, so go figure.

New Zeland sounds like a great option, even if it is far away. Australia is pretty nice too, plus the outback is lovely.

Canada is also a great option. I'm actually thinking about moving there someday.

Whatever you do, though, avoid the US like the plague. America is pretty rotten when you come right down to it- and I should know, I live there.

  10. Canada has been at or near the top of the "world's best countries in which to live "  lists  for the past 25 years, as reported by .the United Nations.

A huge country wilh vast amounts of natural resources, about 20 percent of all the fresh water on the globe, ( more than 4 million lakes and rivers )  a peaceful and well educated popualtion, with a long history of progessive social policies , and low crime rates.

Canada is looking for immigrants that can adapt easily  to our society , who are well educated, and who speak one of our two official langauages, English or French. Remember that Britain is one of our two  founding  cultures, and many of our current practices and government structures are based on that of the UK.  We are a Parliamentary  democracy  with elected MPs and we also elect MPP's  to our 10 Provincial and Territorial Legislatures.

Canada has a strong  robust economy, with the second largest oil  reserves in the world, after Saudi Arabia. We are a net food exporter, and our farms help to feed the world. Agriculture is the third largest sector  of our economy, after manufacturing  and natural resources..   Our national budget has health care as the very first priority,  followed by education.

Canada does not have a history of civil war, or racial riots, and we manage to welcome about 250,000  new people to this country every year. In my city , Toronto , about half of all the people who live here, were born in another country.

Our Toronto Police  Service has about 6,500 uniform Constables , and amongst that group, they speak 125 different languages, and about 45 percent of them are   females, and 40 percent are visible minotites. Most  Police officers here  in Canada hold at least an under graduate University degree  and  in order to be promoted, an advanced degree  is expected by the time they write for the Sgts exam.

If you came to live in  Canada, even on the west coast in British Columbia, the flight back to the UK will be about  10 hours. From Toronto, it is only 7.  And of course any UK citizen can visit Canada  for up to 6 months  at a time, without a visa . . Come for a holiday and see for yourself.

No discussion about Canada,  will be complete without mentioning weather. Of course it gets cold here in the winter, BUT look at how many people are happy here from "tropical countries " like Malaysia, India, the Carribbean and Africa. If they can do it, so can you.

We build our homes with much more insulation  in the walls floors and roofs, and heat them with super efficient  gas furnaces, plus we dress for it and do everything "out doors " all year long. It is a learnig process, and many former UK people are here in Canada,  and loving it .

Why ?  No chavs, no graffiit, and people  in Canada are FRIENDLY, and will go out of their way to help you.  Kids here are  kepy busy and you won';t find them drinking at age 14 here. Lots  to do and be involved in for kids, and most of it is free, thru the local town recreation department.

We NEED lots more people, to keep up with our booming economy. There are  about  65,000 jobs posted today on the Canada Human Resources job computers.
