Question:

Where's the best place to put my Router?

Its currently next to my PC however the connection keeps dropping in the kitchen and on the Laptop, could it be an Interference?

  1. Hi,

      Just keep it close to the system and away from all magnetic fields and electronic signals, which effect these signals.

      

    I can suggest you to put in bedroom or drawing room


  2. Wireless routers are often affected by microwaves, cordless phones, cell phones etc.

    I would put it in another room of the house.

  3. That other person is correct.  You are going to not want 2.4 gHz or 5.8 gHz phones,  baby monitiors,  or near wahser dryers,  and microwaves.

    You are going to need to experiment for the best spots.

  4. like the guy above said all those will kill the signal along with walls and also if you have the router near your monitor specially a CRT. Up high and as centeral as possible plus the july issue of Maximum PC has a little tweek you can do to boost the signal.
