  1. For one, you can advertise in your local paper.  Local schools are also a good place to sell.  Bulletin boards in local grocery stores sometimes have a "market place" section where you can advertise.

I would avoid at all cost Pawn shops of any type, and selling to music stores too.  Heres why.   They in turn will be selling the instrument at a fair market price... which means... they will offer you much less than what its worth!   If for example a fair market price on the sax is 250... you would be lucky to see half of that out of a pawn shop or music store.

  2. Daddy's "Junky" Music has always given me a fair price on my instruments.  With a brass instrument though, you may want to try advertising on Craigslist or near high schools/jr high schools where students might me looking to buy a used instrument.

  3. Music stores, Instrument stores, and Pawn shops..thats were I got my sax! lol

  4. www.craigslist.com

    www.amazon.com

also check the classifieds in your local paper.

    Good luck :)

  5. Ask to post it in all of the Middle Schools and High Schools in your area.    You can ask a fair price and many times, the band director will try to help you sell it, because they know the students who really need another saxophone.    Parents also call the band director to ask where to buy instruments.  If he has knowledge of yours,   he will pass that information on to the parents.    I have sold many instruments this way.  It is a very good time to be trying to sell,  because parents are scrambling to find an instrument before school starts.

    Good Luck
