The turns, the straightaways, the start/finish line, etc? From where in the stands have you had the best viewing experience? :) I'm going to Richmond in September, and it'll be my very first race!

  1. Never been to Richmond but at Martinsville we sit on row 19, start finish line. Excellant spot! Good luck and enjoy.

Now, for me, the best seat is on my couch dead center in the middle of the surround sound and lined up with that 42" HDTV.

  2. I always enjoy sitting between turn four and the finish line, high in the bleachers.

    Take EAR PROTECTION !

  3. cup race or nationwide? if you're talking cup race, you'd better hurry up and buy tickets, and i'm sure you won't have a huge choice of where to sit, because that race is probably about 90 % plus sold out right now. if you're talking nationwide, the only reserved seats are along the front straightaway. great seats, but very crowded. the rest of the tickets for the nationwide race are GA, that's your best bet because you can find a spot that's not crowded. you can spread out and enjoy the race. i go to every richmond race, i know that track like the back of my hand. if there's anything else you need to know, just email me through Y/A

EDIT: dogwood? buy them. dogwood is turn 2, and i'm not exaggerating when i say 75% of the crashes in richmond happen in turn 2. i have sat all over that speedway, and i have very good memories of sitting in the dogwood section. in fact, that's where i sat for race 26 of the first year of the chase when jeremy mayfield won to get himself into the chase, remember that?

to answer your last question, if you're talking cup race, there absolutely will NOT be empty seats to move to, it'll be a packed house. nationwide race? of course, the place won't be half full, but the 'primo seats', (near the start/finish line, in other words ) is where the crowd will all gather, you'd be much better off sitting somewhere less crowded.

  4. I liked the Dogwood section, up high. That way as the race progresses, you start getting in the shade.

When I was there, (a while back), we tried to move seats and were told to go back. If I remember correctly, they were pretty adamant about it.

    Enjoy it!!!!

  5. high up near the start finish line.....If you sit down low in the stands. You get all sorts of c**p throw down your way

  6. On your butt!

  7. Anywhere :)

At Richmond, I'd prefer the frontstretch so you can see pit road.  Always aim for at least row 25.  In the lower rows, not only can you see less of the track, but it is nosier and you get dirt and rubber in your eyes.

  8. For the money??.....  I prefer the corners !! Alot of action there

  9. The Commonwealth e-J goes up to row 43..these seats are the best seats at the track...right in front of the pits and above row 14.

For more information on seating go here. I tried to cut and paste and it wouldn't let me.  Something about copyright laws....lol

  10. I had seats in turn one for 3 years straight, it was nice because they weren't as expensive as front stretch tickets, but you could still see the entire track, and pitroad, so i'd aim like 25-30 rows up in turn one if I were you... richmond is a great first track to attend a race.
