Where's the best place to stay in Jamaica?

For a female who's gonna be traveling by herself? It's my 1st time in Jamrock so I'm curious as to where to go.. I'm not really into resorts & ting.. i like passa passa & all dem tingz.. any ideas???

it's difficult to say. Do u have friends there? if so i'm sure u'd be fine staying in a guesthouse nearby. i know what your saying about the whole resort thing but i've travelled the caribbean alone and u do have to be careful as a female. if you don't have friends u might be better staying somewhere like the sunset jamaica grande in ocho rios, which has loooads of young staff working there who u can leave the resort with and go to parties and clubs. whatever you decided stay safe and enjoy your time!
