  1. Depends on what u call reasonably priced. I can't afford 100 euros per person! (skint student) You find the best restaurants if you head off the beaten track. Go where the locals go. Last time I was in Paris we had a great meal near the Sorbonne. Metro stop Malesherbes. 3 courses for under 20 euros each. Auberge  Cardinet on Rue Cardinet. Really nice couple own it. No English menu but if you don't speak French, the lady translates the menu for u.

  2. all of the above

but "reasonable" is very vague indeed for one of the most expensive cities in the world.

I'd skip into a bookstore when there (there are hundreds) and grab one of the restaurant guides en francais and just look for your area of choice, the star rating and usually will have a cost rating too.

I'd advise against asking your hotel clerk, unless you're staying in The Crillon

  3. There are many restaurants in Paris of course and "nice" means different things to different people.

My favorite little place is La Methode at 2 rue Descartes in the 5th aronndissement. Very convivial, excellant, mainly traditional French food and moderately priced.

Its quite small and you can eat on the terrace or in a large room in the back (the tables in the area with the bar at the entrance can be a bit noisy). On some nights, a jazz band may appear later in the evening but generally its quiet.

Try the palourdes (small clams) for a starter and the pain perdu (what Americans and Brits would all French toast) for dessert.

  4. Go down the street of Champs-Elysee between the Arc of Trompe and the Concorde. Alot of outside restaurants, very romantic in the evening. Some are more expensive then others but you can find some really decent food for a reasonable price. The menus are very visably displayed outside so if you see an amount out of your range just walk on by.

  5. One place to consider would be the Ciel de Paris on the 56th floor of Montparnasse.  It is the tallest building in Paris and you can see the Eiffel Tower from your dinner table and have the best views of Paris.  It is very nice and not really that expensive compared to Jules Verne, for example.  We had a wonderful meal there last year and it was really nice to see Paris from way up in the sky.  Hope that is some help.  Good luck and have a nice time.

  6. There are countless restaurants in Paris with fantastic food. If you want nice romantic ideas that your girlfriend would like, I would say first investigate the Bateaux-Mouches, boats that serve dinner during a cruise down the Seine, and they can go for about 50 - 100 euros a person. Also, the restaurant  "Altitude 95" on the Eiffel Tower is in a similar price range, though you would need to make reservations.

    Hope this helps!
