amazon - you can buy cheap, used books at amazon instead of paying retail (even with discount) price.

I use half.com.  It has CDs and books for sale by individuals, kind of like ebay (it is part of ebay), but you don't bid, just buy for the set price. I've seen books in the store for $15 and check half.com and find them for $2 or so. Also pay a shipping charge. Check it out.

Pricegrabber.com allows the user to type in a zip code for shipping purposes, then queries the different people selling stuff. You can sort and find the cheapest seller for the book you are interested in. You will find that there is not one single place that is cheapest. It depends on the book.
