Question:

Where's the justice for Kelsey Smith-Briggs?

Majority of people believe that Mike Porter physically abused, sexually abused and murdered Kelsey Smith-Briggs. He was charged with those crimes then offered a plea deal (by the Briggs and they agreed to it also) and he accepted it. Is there any way he can ever be charged and convicted of those crimes so Kelsey can receive the justice she deserves? Or will Mike Porter get away with it and be free in 30 years? All he was convicted of was Enabling Child Abuse! So if someone is offered a plea deal and they accept and the courts accept, can it be overturned?

  1. Once the courts accept a plea it is over, it cannot be overturned and the person can even appeal later and try to get a further reduction in their sentence, without details of the case it is difficult to address the justice part, but if the court felt there was insufficient evidence to get a conviction then the agreement may have been the best way to make sure the person received punishment for the crime.~
