  1. Go to Argentina.

You'll get more bang for your buck.

the country is beautiful, argentinians are very european and friendly. Buenos Aires is fantastic, great architecture, incredible food and many things to do.

the country is huge, and the climate goes from tropical in the north to sub polar in the south.

  2. bolivia is the cheapest ince you are there. set lunch is usually between 1 and 2 dollars for example. budget Hotel around $10

  3. I was looking at fares to go to Nicaragua to dive in the Corn Islands. and Airfare from SLC  was about $500.00 30 days out.

  4. Panama is beautiful especially if you are into beautiful beaches and tropical weather.

  5. It depends on where you are flying from... but you can get to Quito (capital of Ecuador) from Miami for under $500 round trip.  Rio and Sao Paulo Brazil from Miami and closer to $600-650 round trip.

I would recommend that if you have not been to South America before and don't know anybody there that you travel with a tour group.  This is a good site to price compare different types of tours: http://www.affordabletours.com
