Question:

Where's the sound?

OK so I want to transfer the sound from my laptop to my lcd tv, so i went to the shop and the guy gave me a " mini jack to 2 RCA cables" said this would work, as of yet cant get any sound..... is it the wrong cable or do i have to set it up a certain way?

  1. these plugs normally run from headphone socket to the red white inputs on a TV only problem is that if the TV is running on a VGA or dvi cable it is expecting to receive a digital sound input and RCA are analogue,

    to test this plug them in and turn TV to s-video or video you will hear the sound but have a blank screen as the picture will be on the av channel


  2. it should work ive done it before, that is definitly the right wire, make sure your tv is on input (whichever input is the jack youre using) and i know its stupid but make sure your laptop's volume is up along with the volume on the tv... ive made that mistake before
