Something strange has happend to our heat. All the water for the house is all cold, the stove doesn't light a fire. And just last night my father had a fever last night and he is still sick. Where is the source for the heat, please, tell me what it looks like and tell me how to fix the heat source.

  1. PAY THE BILL

  2. go find an adult male.  If you don't know how your house is heated, don't mess with anything.   If gas, did you pay your bill?  Usually the heater for water and heater for house are two different things, but might be the same.  So, if source of fuel is shut off, (or your fuel oil tank is empty) both heaters would stop working.  If you have one source for water and house heat, most likely a pilot light proble or a switch is off.

    Go find an adult

if you have electricity, perhaps you can plug in a small heater next to your father's bed to keep his room warm.

    go find an adult

  3. From what you say, your heat is gas fueled.

If the stove and water heater don't work,

    the gas is turned off.

    Probably by the Utility.

It's not something you can 'fix' alone.

Seek help & advice from neighbors.

  4. I would go to my next door neighbour and ask them, they are sure to know. How long have you lived there? do you have a meter you need to put money into? do you have a landlord ? get help for your father, it is good the heat was off though whilst he had a fever because he would need cooling down anyway, make sure he has enough to drink even if it is sips often, call a doctor (ask your neighbour) if he isn't improving today.

  5. Sounds like you have gas since your talking about fire.

Maybe the gas bill was not paid.
