I'm planning a vacation with my sister and mom to Aruba in the second or third week of May. I'm not a huge traveler.. this will be the first time I leave the country! I had a triple A agent look up some prices but they were all around 2 grand per person! Not really sure where to start.. all info would be great!

  1. Good choice!  By booking your air travel several weeks in advance and usually traveling weekdays can save you some money.  Also booking air and hotel together is typically cheaper, especially if you are staying in the same room.

As far as all inclusive, you probably won't need a car but can day rent one if you feel the need.  Every hotel in the Caribbean has racks full of things to do while you are visiting their country and you can do the "all inclusive" from that perspective.  If you are interested in booking a special feature that might require advance reservations, you can call the hotel you are staying at and typically have them get you the contact information you need.

Most hotels offer at least one complimentary meal per day and some even more.  You can click on each hotel as you wish to look over individual amenities.

It does depend on your departure airport but I did a quick initial search and came up with about $2500 total for the three of you.  Again I don't know your departure airport and used Dulles International in the Washington, DC area.

Many of my friends use the web site below and it is a high value for your  dollar.

www.AlmondTreeTravel.com  - Click on "Book Travel" middle left of the page, then click on Caribbean Vacations in the middle of the page, then click on Aruba.  After clicking on Aruba, click on"Instant Prices, Reservations & Flights", and you are on your way.

    Hope that helps.

    Enjoy!

  2. Try http://www.aruba.com it has most of the hotel info to give you insight on the all-inclusive offerings as well as sight-seeing and restaurant info.

My favorite all-inclusive is La Cabana and is a favorite of many Americans. Canadians and US return year after year to this resort.

Try AA http://www.aavacations.com/ has deals. I book myself in Oct, Nov and March for the flights and all-inclusives and being off season the hotel deals are hot. I also use http://www.sidestep.com

Another fave...Holiday Inn Sun Spree. try this website:

    Cheap Caribbean http://www.cheapcaribbean.com

May still has nice weather, gets a little warmer in June but the avg. temp is 88 so even hot days aren't unbearable.

  3. MCM Tours http://www.aruba4u.com/

They sell only travel to Aruba and we have used them for over 9 years. Best service and price.

  4. In 2005, I went through Applevacations and stayed at the Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive Resort.  It was about 1400 a person.  It's a low rise hotel, meaning it stretches along hte beach and o ly has 2 floors in a building.  You walk right out of your room onto the beach.  It's truly all inclusive.  You literally don't have to spend another cent if you choose.  Good Luck
