  1. depends on which leg your using

  2. For real..???  Ok...well, your best bet would be to trawl the web, try american tool sites, they are bound to something suitable. You forgot to mention what sort of hammer...: claw? ballpein? brick? sledge? club? roofing?.. believe me there are loads.  Good luck though.

  3. You all seem to miss the point that hammers do not have hands. This is why they have evolved to have hard heads.

Its a sorry life for the poor creatures as the only time that they get any attention is when somebody picks them up and starts smashing their head against something.

  4. Home Depot actually had a hammer they sold under the "Rigid" brand name that came in left & right handed versions. It had a molded "thumb-groove" in the handle.

I checked the Home Depot & Rigid Tool web sites; it looks like your best bet is garage sales. Keep your eyes open, they had orange cushioned grip handles, with either black or chrome handles & heads, & weighed 18oz.

I am NOT pulling your leg, they did sell them. They still may have a few in stock, but they are no longer shown on their web site. If I were kidding, I would have told you to look behing the "metric pliers" and "adjustable s***w drivers"; right next to the "wood stretchers". Across the aisle from the"Knudsen Valve Soleniod Gaskets" at the auto parts stores.

  5. At the Leftist Home Depo.First street left from KFC.Third isle left from the paint section.Second shelf left from the left handed tooth picks.Handle only with right hand  to make sure that if you hit your thumb it is on your left hand.Just to make things perfect.

  14. hi mate, my shed is full of left-handed tools, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, drills, even got a left-handed lawnmower, you can have them all i cant use them, am right-handed.    ps. i also have a leftfoot football aswell.

  15. Most modern hammers come with a reversible head. They're installed for right-handed use by default, but with just a few minutes work can be converted for left-handed use.

See those steel wedges that come with higher-end hammers? Those are the reversticles. If your hammer didn't come with them or you have lost them, they can be purchased for just a few pennies from your local hardware store.

    Now on to the procedure:

1.) Remove the head from the handle

    2.) Rotate the head 180°

3.) Replace head and drive as many reversticles as needed into the end of the shaft to securely seat the reversed head.

I too am a lefty and suffered for several months on my first framing job until my foreman showed me this trick. I hope this helps you too.

    Best regards,

    KM

    category.
