I want to buy my 12 year old cousin her halloween costume... She really like Amber Von Tussle from hairspray so can I have some help?

ha i'm being Amber too! What I'm doing is going to Goodwill and finding just a short 60's prom dress, white flats, cardigan (optional), buying lots of Hairspray! headband, a bunch of beads from claires, if you have any questions email me!

Well, I've seen costumes for Tracy, Link, and Penny in costume shops. Amber, I think you'd have to assemble yourself. You should be able to find the right kind of wig at a costume shop... Unless you're willing to spend a lot of money, I think you might have to peacemeal the rest together. You can almost certainly find the rest at thrift stores such as the ARC, Goodwill, DAV, or Salvation Army. You probably don't need to get a dress EXACTLY like the one in the movie; if it looks early '60s, and she has the hair, it'll probably be recognizable.

I'd recommend that she carry around a can of hairspray so people get it; even when people dress as cultural icons, or chars from movies everyone's seen, lots of people miss the joke. They have inflatable props to look like Ultra Clutch Hairspray from the movie, but these are oversized for comedic effect: they're 24 inches tall. Better to just use normal hairspray and possibly paste the Ultra Clutch logo over it.

Finally, white heels, possibly with buckles, are essential.
