  1. Unclear what you really need -- frame only or complete bike.  You need to be aware that not all 51cm frames are the same size.  There are at least 3 different schemes for measuring seat tube length (frame size).  All begin at the center of the bottom bracket, but some measure to the top of the top tube, others to the center, and still others to the top of the seat tube itself.

To compound the problem, the compact geometry frames sizes are not expressed in centimeters at all, but rather as S, M, L, etc.

I've put links below to some of my favorite online sellers, ranging from low to high end, each of which sells frames in all sizes.  Performance has 8 retail store greater LA.

If you order online be sure you’re getting the right size, as proper fit is important.

I've personally purchased from all of them with no complaints.

    I hope this helps.

    Ben

  2. Well a bike shop. Online.

  3. It is normally only the more specialised (i.e. expensive) frames that are available separately.  If you are going to build your own bike then it is best to know exactly what frame you want to start with, in which case you can then contact the manufacturer to find a dealer.

EDIT - Am I misinterpreting the question, do you want a road bike with a 51cm frame?

51cm is not a standard frame size, it would normally be a 50 or 52cm.  Cervelo do a 51cm I think but these are full on racing bikes.  For an individual designated frame size the actual geometry will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.  Try some different brands at several bike shops and I am sure you will find something in the 50-52cm range that fits you perfectly.

I have 3 bikes from different manufacturers, all different frame sizes and all are the right size for me.

Just choose your nearest and give them a call, if they don't have what you want I am sure they will give you advice as to where you might get it.  Good luck.

  5. You will have to order one. Road bike frames aren't usually an off-the -shelf item at bike shops. The reason is because most people want a complete bike. If you really want a frame, go to your LBS and order one. You already know what size you need. Now you just have to decide what componenents to build it up with and how much you're willing to spend.
