I am 15 and am going to start working soon. I want to become an astronomer and want to start with an astronomy job. Nothing like research but anything involving astronomy. Like could I work for a science museum? Or what else? My brother has a job at a lab because of his science fair project. Something like that.

  1. NASA

  2. My suggestion would be to volunteer first because that's what worked for me. I live in Chicago and I wanted to work at the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum. I first talked to the supervisor about working there, but when I told him that I had no previous job experience, he said that the chances of me getting the job was very low. Then when I asked him if I could volunteer, he said that the museum needed volunteer service. For the first month, I worked with two other coworkers by assisting them with tour groups at the museum. I learned a lot just from those tours. After that first month, my two coworkers really enjoyed the way I worked and helped. They then suggested that my boss hire me for a full time position, which I got. I was 16 when I got that position and worked there for a year. I learned a lot of new things about astronomy just by working there. So, if you have no other work experience and the chances of you getting a job right away are low, then I would really recommend that you volunteer first. If you do volunteer first and get that volunteer position, then work as well as you can to try and get a full time position. Good luck.

  3. you dont just go to nasa u have to go to college.to be an astronaut if thats what u want u have to have a bachelor's degree.you also have to take a physical test and a flight in a plane for 1012 hours so u know how to fly a space shuttle.but if u want to work in offices and watch them lift off or be managers of parts and the crew u have makes the stuff u have to go to college for a very long time.it takes 4-5 years.oh and you're too young but you can study stuff at your house u dont have to be a pro.but u cant be turning 16 to get a job there unless you drop out of high school and take the big test since you're dropping out and then u can go to college.i hope my info helped you a lot! : )
