Question:

Where Can I Go to get Start-Up Capital for my business?

I am attempting to start up my own publishing company. but I was told by a trusted colleague recently that, due to the rising energy costs and everything else going up, the U.S. Government has siphoned money from varies places, including the entities that assisted entreprenuers like myself, in order to make up the difference.

I really need help in getting start-up funding now so I can get my company up and running. Is there nybody out there that can give me updated information on how I can go about obtaining funds to start my business venture?

  1. Have you looked on-line to see if there are any forums that might give you ideas before you even start looking into financing?  If you have not, it might be a good idea!  I have found a few forums that helped me after I started my business and would have helped me a LOT if I had found them before hand.  Sometimes the members will actually help you with your business plan and can suggest which funding source helped them the most.  The biggest plus is a behind the scenes look at what really goes on.  Some of the other owners might let you shadow them for a few hours or days if you are not to near them.  Some of the suggestions will help your business go from nothing to awesome in a matter of months.

Owning your own business is not what it may first seem.  A lot of times, you are stuck doing things on the weekends for your business that others with a regular job are not.  Make sure it is what you and YOUR spouse/partner want (if you have one).  Good luck either way!

  2. Contact the small business association in your area, they will have tons of resources as well as advisers on how to find capital.

No matter what you need a business plan! You can easily find books on how to do it, as well as tips to find investors.

If you have good credit and a sound business plan, you can easily get a loan from the bank.. it just takes time.

  3. You must have a professional business plan, if not. Go to www.planyouridea.com The professional business plans are very affordable. You can then, go to GOBIGNETWORK.com; they have private investors, angel investors, venture firms, etc. You can definitely find funding source there.
