  1. Your best bet is to find the phone numbers for bars in the closest big city to you and call around and ask.  Setanta isn't carried by many cable providers, but is carried by directv in the US.  So unless you want to cancel your cable, and sign up for directv, going to a bar is probably the only way.  I believe and annual subscribtion to setanta through directv is in the ballpark of $200.  Hopefully ESPN will cover highlights, but as of now Setanta has all of the broadcast rights for the world cup in North America.

  2. Dont know about "Suddenlink" but the company that got North America broadcast rights is called Setanta Sports.  I live in Canada and have Bell ExpressVu.  Setanta just started their own channel on Bell and it costs me $15 a month to watch it.  It is 90% Soccer but it's my best way to see the WC so I got it and will cancel it after the tournament.

When I checked the Bell website, I couldn't find ANY mention of Setanta Sports, so you may want to call "Suddenlink" rather than just check out their site.  Setanta channel here is on a free preview until Sept. 4th so maybe they have the same thing there to try and get new viewers.

I just checked out the Suddenlink site and it's pretty crappy, so calling is probably your best bet.
