I recommend De Barge.

As the name implies, it is not really a hotel but a boat-hotel. It is very close to the main station and the city center is within reach.

A bit expensive, but very romantic.

I can recommend two really excellent hotels in Brugge (Bruges).  We, my wife and I, have used them both and they are excellent and close to the town centre, the Markt.

1.  Romantic Pand (I think the "Romantic" bit is the name of the hotel group but it is very apt.)  It is in a little tree-lined side street, very quiet. Every room is individually decorated. It's like being in someone's rather large cluttered home.

2. Die Swaene (The Swan) - by the side of a canal and we could see the bell tower from our bedroom window. Excellent hotel but, for us, too expensive to eat in the restaurant (we're pensioners!!) but there are thousands of good eating places in Brugge.

I really do recommend these hotels.

When you stay in the city centre from Bruges you will pay a lot as it is the biggest tourist city we have in Belgium.

My wife and I stay often just outside Bruges,  in a small Hotel that has a familly attiude and all facility's are available. if you want to go to Bruges just take the bike (from the hotel) or the bus it is 10K from the center of Bruges.

Have been to Brugges 2 years ago but just had a very cheap room for about 20€ but it was nice as well!
