  1. The number of speeds on the bike does not dictate the size of the tire.

The size of the wheel does.

Find out what size wheel you have and buy the most durable tire. If you continue to have problems you need to determine the mode of failure. The tire doesn't go flat, it's the tube. there are any number of reasons for this (search under flat tire) and it's been addressed here repeatedly but the most likely culprits are bad rim tape a shard of something in the tire or poor tube changing technique pincing the new tube. If you want a new tire that will hold up on a trainer, pick a commuter tire at a bike shop.

I also assume that you're not referring to the way a tire loses air after sitting. I pump up my tires every time I ride.

  2. ebay some cheap tires for trainers. Check or replace the rim strip of the back wheel. It may have a spoke poking through. Also check the lips of the rim to make sure it doesn't have a sharp edge. The resistance may be set too high (tire too close) to the trainer spinning mechanism. Decrease the resistance and ride in higher gears. You may be heating up the tire too much

  3. There is a 700c trainer tire made by Conti or michelin - can't remember. It yellow and REALLY expensive for what a plain old heavy duty used tire can do for free. Like 1st answer said trainers don't cause flats. Check the tire, tube and rim for the cause.

  4. I'm not aware of a trainer specific tire. Trainers do wear down the back tire quickly, but they don't cause flats. Check your tire to make sure there isn't some object inside it. Also look at your rim strip and the rim itself to make sure that the tube isn't being poked by the top of a spoke or a rough edge on the rim. Looking at the location of the leak in the tube should give you a hint of where the problem lies.
