  1. Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period. An ancient symbol, it occurs mainly in the cultures that are in modern day India and the surrounding area, sometimes as a geometrical motif (as in the Roman Republic and Empire) and sometimes as a religious symbol. It was long widely used in major world religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

Though once commonly used all over much of the world without stigma, because of its iconic usage in n**i Germany, the symbol has become controversial in the Western world...

  2. It's a Hindu symbol of good luck. Hitler and the n**i's stole it.

It has been used by people all over the world from the Celtic north to the plains of India since a very early period in the worlds history, mostly religious but it has been used as decorative symbols. the ancient Greeks liked it as did the Celts and Gemans for that purpose. It is so old that nobody knows its origanal purpose. and of course now defiled by the natzis.

  4. It is an easily produced symbol which appeared in many ancient civilisations independently in Asia, China, Africa, Europe (Celtic, Nordic, Greek and Roman) and even native American Indians.

Its connection to the n**i's was because it was a common symbol used in post first world war Germany especially by demobbed German soldiers who joined extreme right wing private armies (Freikorps) and had been used as a symbol by shock troops employed by the German army later in the first world war.

The n**i's used it because it was a common symbol found in the runic language of Nordic countries which tied into n**i Teutonic master race belief's

  10. There are two types of swastikas, the right-handed one and the left-handed one. The right-handed one was the one the Naizs used. It comes from India, and is a Hindu symbol.

The other type of swastika comes from Germany, I think the Vikings or something like that. Hitler used the wrong swastika.

  11. As far as we can date back for symbols scratched into stone, the people from the areas of present day India, Northern Europe and North America all had this symbol.  It has been explained as a "Sun Wheel", a "hammer" or "Ax" spinning in flight and several other items.

Just before WWII it was the symbol for one of the Boy Scout Troops in the U.S. because it was found in many of the Amerindian writings/drawings.  That troop dropped it when WWII started and the n**i flag became more noticed in the U.S.
