  1. Yep. Petco and  Petsmart!

And he goes with me all the time unless its hot out and he stays home. Otherweise we are inseperable.

  2. My sister and I have taken our dogs anywhere we've been given permission.  We've been to the Gene Autry museum.  We did tricks in the vestibule at the Roy Rogers museum when it was in Apple Valley... everyone seemed to like that.  My nephew and his friend found that a trick chihuahua at Huntington Beach can be a chick magnet. We've brought back fond memories for some old people in hospitals and nursing homes...sometimes, just getting to hold the leash is good beyond belief.  Use your imagination, have some fun, do some good.

  3. I don't have dogs, I have cats.  I have a male siameese who travels with us all over - camping, stores, so on.

We have trained him to walk on a leash with harness, not a collar.  He loves people, and seems to get offended when he is not noticed.

We have 2 others who are certified nursing home companions - and are very loving and gentle with older folks, kids, and sick people in hospitals.

The main thing that you have to do is get them well used to people and strange sights, sounds, and odors.

  4. My dogs go with me where they are allowed- they are well socialized and well behaved.  They go to the pet store, farmer's market, sidewalk cafes with outdoor seating, outdoor events here in town that allow them, book stores, hardware stores, basically anywhere the shop owner has given me permission to take them in.  I live in a very dog-friendly small city and they are allowed into pretty much everywhere that does not serve food.  They also have gone rafting with me (in their life vests, of course), we go hiking, fishing, to the park, and they usually go with me on vacation, as generally I go and visit either my parents or one of my brothers and sisters since I live far away from them all, and they all are happy to have my dogs come and visit with me.
