Rice Epicurian on San Felipe has great tasting ones.  The French Gourmet Bakery on Memorial and the one on Westheimer inside the Loop also have them.  Enjoy!

If you want some nicely budgeted Black Forest Cake, you actually can get a pretty nice one at good price at Walmart, sad to say.  Their cakes are actually pretty delicious.

Sam's Club has excellent cakes, but they are hit and miss.  Sometimes they have the cakes you want, and sometimes you don't.  Usually, during the holiday, their cake selection are great.  However, on regular days, they have cheese cake and only a few selection.

The other place I would recommend is Central Market (Westheimer and Weslyan).  Central Market has very good selection and good cakes, but they are a bit more pricier.  I like them because I am assured the quality is high, not mentioning it is a cool place to hang out.

if you want really nice cake, go to southwest Houston at Chinatown - they got awesome bakery with great cakes.  Try Dynasty Mall or Hong Kong Mall.
