It seems to be the female which is a problem and if you kill them you release all the eggs so I try and get them out with a broom but I am afraid of them horrible things they are. There is a spray you can buy but it is so strong it nearly kills me and the smell in the house is Horrid what could you suggest.

  1. make sure that you keep your home very clean and do not use Pine based products i.e. Pinesol.  Cockroaches are attracted to Pine based products even the ones with the pretty scents.  Switch your cleaners and that will help reduce your problem.  If you do use Pine based products you need to rewash everything in an alternate cleaner like Lysol, ammonia, or bleach to rid your house of the Pine Oil.  Since you don't like the smell of bug bombs there is a product called Pestabs  http://www.e-bug.net/cgi-bin/store/comme... it doesn't smell and you must spray inside  the home and the perimeter of your home and you should be able to eliminate your problem.

  2. I am a bug man for a national pest control company with 6 years experience and licensed in 2 states. You can try using a dust instead of a spray. The spray contains a pyrethrin which does smell horrible. I use a mask when I disperse these chemicals. Those type of sprays are mostly used to flush out pest from there hiding places. U need to use a barrier type of spray along with flushing agent if you have a sever type infestation. I am a professional and we use deltamethaprin, biferthrin, cyflurthrin as a barrier spray. These types of spray will last up to 3 months. Go to your local co-op or feed store to purchase these type and usually mix with a gallon of water. U can get these type at Lowes or home depot but they are very diluted and not strong killers or have a good repellancy toward insects. Once you lay down the barrier first then use the smelly spray to flush them out. Use a respirator. Your problems will slowly disappear. Once you got rid of them, a barrier treatment every three months in your home should prevent them from coming back. I only spray the exterior of my home every three months. But i do have a 50 gallon power sprayer on my service vehicle so that does make it quite easy for me. You also have the option of hiring a professional to do it for you.

  3. I hate them things but unfortunately Australia is a haven for bugs year round and the ever increasing temperature is only making matters worse since we didn't even have the little buggers until a few years ago. I find it's best to try and catch them in a jar and set them free outside, though catching them is difficult if they're in midflight it pays to wait until they land, put a jar over them and then slide paper under the jar like a lid holding it down until you reach the door.

  4. its a shame but as i live in britain i wouldnt know the answer to that

we dont get flying coachroaches round my way

    maybe a flamethrower?

  5. Call Terminex, darlin'.  I get them, but because of the stuff "T" puts down, they can't crawl in the house.  I live in Central Texas and have plenty of critters you can saddle up and ride.  It's worth the $120 every three months for no spiders and bugs.
