I am going to North Wales in a few weeks. Are there any places worth a visit when I am down there?

  1. not actually in wales, but pretty close: Chester.

    I loved it!

  2. I like Snowdonia and Bets-y-Coed and also Bedgellert.  Llandudno is a nice seaside town which is worth a visit and you might like Caernarfon and Conwy with their castles.  Anglesey is a good place to go too with some lovely beaches and the Lleyn Peninsular is beautiful.

  3. north Wales is beautiful ... lovely golden sands with mountains inland ... depends on what sort of thing you like doing ... there's some good seaside resorts (Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno) with plenty of amusements, cafes, activities ... they've got a great indoor fun pool at Rhyl called the Sun Centre ... there's plenty of ancient castles, for instance Rhudlan near Rhyl ... there's little railways, the only one I've been on is the Snowdon Mountain Railway which was a great trip up Mount Snowdon ... I went earlier this year and we couldn't get right to the very top because they're building a new visitor centre up there, we could only get three quarters of the way up but even that was stunning, I think the visitor centre should be open around August, I want to go back again when it's finished as the view from three quarters way up was stunning, so the view from the very top must be spectacular (just make sure you go on a clear sunny day) ... I think in peak season the Snowdon railway gets very packed and you might need to book in advance http://www.snowdonrailway.co.uk/

there's other railways too if that interests you, and if you find time hanging heavily then what about going to Holyhead (by car or train) and doing a day trip over to Ireland
