I am very close with a local golf store owner's son. The nike cci irons I plan on buying there are 500. On Ebay, I have seen them for as low as 250 to 300. I want to contribute to the store as much as possible, but i want to save 200 bucks too! Any ideas? Thanks

  1. I would get the irons at the store.  My reason is that you have no idea what the irons will be like. They could be new but not a proper size for you or any thing like that.

    Good luck

  2. Are the ones on Ebay new? New clubs, preferably fitted ones, always trump secondhand clubs.

  3. There are some very good deals to be had on Ebay.  I use Steal Golf ( http://www.stealgolf.com ) . It separates all of the EBay listings into categories according to club type and brand, which makes for easier searching.

I've never had a problem getting things on EBay as long as you stick to the Maxim that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. That said, you can save a good chunk on legitimate clubs.

As for the friend, I think you have to ask yourself what the friendship is worth. Surely, your friends feelings may be hurt when you show up with a set of clubs his family didn't sell you.

  4. I like to save money but, there are counterfeits on eBay. Check the seller's ratings. Nothing wrong with used. You can always have them bent if need be.

  5. I buy all of my golf equip on www.tgw.com Its a discount golf warehouse that has everything you can want from clubs, balls, clothing, shoes, etc. You will see that compared with retail stores tgw.com has better prices and they also offer custom fitting of clubs which i recommend.

  6. Tons of very convincing counterfeits and stolen clubs on Ebay.  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
