  1. Unfortunately, if you have to ask, it probably means you aren't ready for a manager nor are you ready for an agent. Remember that both of these cost money, and if you're not making money now you'd be spending money you don't have for a significant amount of time on a manager or an agent before they start helping you make money - and that's if they're effective.

    Instead of getting either one, you really need to just play some shows, make some money and have fun. Fun is important, because you should enjoy what you're doing blah blah but also you need to make sure you have an audience. That's the key.

    You'll probably find that you'll be approached by a manager or agent when you're successful enough, but you need to get to that point first.
