Manga e Bevi on Ninth Avenue and 53rd Street is reasonably priced and it's a lot of fun.  Everyone gets a tamborine and the waiters dance with everyone.

Katz's Delicatessen on Houston at Ludlow. Order pastrami on rye, have a pickle, and a Dr. Brown's soda. Nothing else. You won't have to order anything else.
