I'd pretty much like all the information there is. Where do I sew the ribbon? How exactly do you tie them? I had the elastic before and just want to try them with ribbons.

I asked my ballet teacher how but she wasn't very informative.

Thanks is advance.

  1. The ribbons and elastics are sewn together. I sew mine so that the elastic crosses over my feet; I feel it offers more support.

You sew the first elastic about an inch from the center seam on the side of the shoe. Then sew the other end to the opposite side about an inch from the very back seam. Do the same with the other elastic.

The ribbons can be placed either in the front or the back. It really doesn't matter, but I personally prefer them to be further forward.

    A couple reminders:

Be sure to measure the elastic before you sew it. Make sure it's the right length for your feet otherwise it can become potentially dangerous.

Also, sew everything on the inside of the shoe. It looks tacky when it's done the other way.

Lastly, be very careful not to sew through the elastic band that goes around the shoe. It's not fun to work with.

    Hope this helped = )

  2. To tie the ribbons you always want to put the inside ribbon first.

-Place the inside ribbon over where your foot meets your ankle then the outside ribbon over the first.

-wrap them both in opposite directions around your ankle.

-Tie them in a tight knot (On the INSIDE of your ankle) and tuck it in.

    TA-DAH!!!!

Oh and make sure not to pull a 'Barbie' and tie the ribbons WAY up to your knees, that bothers the heck out of me. :)

  3. by the elastic closer to the heel side

  4. Bend the shoe so the toe goes towards the foot entrance...where the toe touches ...that is where you sew the ribbon

  5. Put shoe on - ribbon goes at the highest part of the instep - and the other side goes dead opposite.

  6. The ribbon is sewn on in the same place you would sew on elastic. To tie them, hold one ribbon in each hand and cross the ribbons over. wrap them around the back of your leg and cross them again. Repeat this, and tie them when they reach your knee. Hope this helps
