When I turn 18, I would like to move to France and study at university there. I have no idea where is best to live and study. I was thinking of Lyon or Paris. Any opinions and real life experiences would be great thanks!

  1. Hi!

I have just finished a year abroad studying in France! I went o a city called Montpellier in the south. It is the 8th biggest city in France and is a wonderful place to live and study.

It has a Mediterranean climate so it is very sunny and warm. there is a saying here that theres 365 days in  a year and 300 days of sun in montpellier! it is a very student friendly city and has one of the highest student populations in France(around 60,000)

It is also a lot cheaper to live in than the bigger cities (Paris being the most expensive)

My advice is to do as much research as possible (this question will hopefully get lots of interesting answers!) and also look into courses in colleges that allow study in france and ask if they have any feed back from past students!!

If you do come here you will have an amazing time (i definitely had the best year of my life here!!) and wherever you decide to go, im sure will be great as each town has its charms :D
