Global warming has caused many hurricanes, both weak and powerful, Hurricane Katrina being one of most powerful. There may have been warnings, but nobody had expected Hurricane Katrina to become what it became because it happened so fast. Hurricane Katrina started out as a normal hurricane, but due to. The hurricane started out as a category one hurricane but quickly became a category five. The reason is because of global warming, instead of causing a lot of short weak storms, it causes one or two very strong storms. “The consequences were horrendous. There are no words to describe them” (Gore, page 95). After Hurricane Katrina, three other hurricanes named Rita, Stan, and Wilma arrived; Hurricane Wilma became the strongest hurricane ever measured.

There's more, but the rest doesn't matter too much.

I want to add what effect global warming has on hurricanes and after the sentence about category 1 to 5 stuff i want to add how global warming makes hurricanes stronger.

  1. I'm not going to do your homework for you, but here are some studies on hurricanes:

"The 2005 Atlantic hurricane season was the most active Atlantic hurricane season in recorded history, repeatedly shattering previous records. The impact of the season was widespread and ruinous with at least 2,280 deaths and record damages of over $128 billion USD."

“What we found was rather astonishing,” said Webster. “In the 1970s, there was an average of about 10 Category 4 and 5 hurricanes per year globally. Since 1990, the number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled, averaging 18 per year globally.”

"We're seeing a quite substantial increase in hurricanes over the last century, very closely related to increases in sea-surface temperatures in the tropical Atlantic Ocean," says study author Greg Holland of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado.

The researchers found that average hurricane numbers jumped sharply during the 20th century, from 3.5 per year in the first 30 years to 8.4 in the earliest years of the 21st century. Over that time, Atlantic Ocean surface temperatures increased .65 degrees, which experts call a significant increase.

  2. Start with the fact individual storms can not be attributed to global warming.  Continue with the fact no discernible increase in the number of storms or their intensity has been detected to date.  Then find another way to blame man for the weather, as this has been debunked.

  3. I hate to disappoint, but your entire paragraph is not true. Global warming has not had any effect on the number or the power of any hurricane. You have fallen into the media trap. They say something to get you drawn into the story. If they said global warming was not mans fault and we have no effect on it, they would have NO story.
