Where and how do I file for unemployment? I live in ohio, where would i get the papers to fill out?

Just got fired today and I was wondering how i register for unemployment. Don't want to do it online, affraid of identity theift and people want me to pay like $30 to register when i know I don't have to pay anything to recieve unemployment. Any body that has filed and could help me out would be very appriciated.

  1. Go to the unemployment office.  They will have the number.  Here we have to do it over the phone so it may be the same where you are.


  2. Just do a search by typing "unemployment benefits ohio" it should bring up the website for you and you can locate your nearest office from there.

  3. Select the appropriate menu option on the left of the page. You'll never have to see the old crow again. You'll need to track at least two personal contacts (emails count) each week, just in case they call you in.

    If you are a documented citizen it should take you about 20 minutes.
