Where and how have you met?

Question

I'm 28, almost 29 now, but my love life probably totals 20 months of actual relationship (including the one boyfriend I had before I realized I was a L*****n, excluding online relationships with women I have never actually met). So overall, I am quite depressed about it. I am far from ugly, but I am the shy type and don't go out much in RL.

So my question is: where and how have you met your partner? I'm mostly looking for women's answers here, but will also gladly accept guy's. I'm hoping that this will give me ideas of where to go to meet people and maybe find love. I'm just not the clubbing type to start with...

I met my gf (and my ex gf) at College. Both times they asked me out so i guess I'm not much help lol.

I met my gf on myspace she messaged me out of the blue  when I was on vacation in virginia I messaged her back a few times and gave her my cell number we talked the rest of the week I was their made plans to meet at the bus station. We did had a very strong connection more so over the phone and internet. We have been together since May 1st 2007

I am bisexual and I think I know where you're coming from.

I never got out much IRL either because I was always on mmorpgs and other online games.... I had some changes in my life which made it almost impossible to get on a computer so i eventually lost all my online friends, crushes etc~ so... i was forced to get a job. I'm sure since you're 29~ you have one (maybe not) but that helped me a lot, I found my boyfriend and we've been together for 8 months, living together now :)

Also, if you don't like clubbing, try going to concerts..

i met my boyfriend at work, and i read (severall times) that work is the #1 place people meet their parters. Also, the #1 place where people meet someone to cheat on their partner. so there ya go.

Why don't you check out the Craigslist personals in and around where you live? I met a good friend of over 2 years now and my walking buddy there. Give it a shot.

I've met partners online, through college GLBT organizations, through community organizations, in the library, at the grocery store, through work, at a bookstore, through other friends, and just other randomness.  

I'm currently single though, waiting to finish school to be with the love of my life.  We've known each other for 10 years and we met online.

I met women at they LGBT youth group I went to then in women only clubs.  Then I met a man at work (don't ask, I was just checking).  Since then I had relationship with 'best friend' from school days and after a long time spent chatting with one women on line which didn't work out I am now seeing some one I met on line.

I'm not the type to go clubbing either and the chances of meeting the type of person that only goes out on the town once or twice a week, are very slim.  If this relationship doesn't work I will look on line again.
