im a filipino and i just recently got married with the american citizen and im in washington states right now.i just wanna know where to apply my social security number and working permit or I103 so that i can work while im waiting for my citizenship.

  1. I think it is your employer who will apply for a working permit for you and also help you register for a social security number once you are employed.  So it means you must have first applied for a job and since you are a foreigner, you can be hired only if the employer has tried to look for a local to fill the vacancy and no one is available so he can now be allowed to hire a foreigner.You can also inquire with the Labor Department or the immigration authorities if you can work while waiting for your application for citizenship to be approved and the requirements and procedure that you should comply with.


  2. Go to your local social security office.  You can find the one closest to your home by going to www.ssa.gov

    You should visit the website first to find out what paperwork you will need to bring, there is no cost to get a social security card.

  3. Marriage gives you no status in the US. How did you get here? If you arrived on a visitors visa you are required to go home and apply. If you came on a K-1 visa there is a different process. There is a lot of paperwork to get a SSN and an EAD (working permit is for children). And it takes years to become a citizen (expect at least 7 years). Where to start depends on your US status.
