  1. I didn't know we're going in a "hand basket". I've never heard of such a thing as a hand basket. I know this expression as "going to h**l in a hand-cart".

  2. i think it means that we all did something bad in our life that deserves to go t o h**l.

  3. This phrase, meaning "to deteriorate rapidly", originated in the U.S. in the early 20th century.  There was an earlier varient of this "going to h**l in a hanging basket" back in the 1890s.

Since handbaskets are "light and easily conveyed," the term "means going to h**l easily and rapidly."

  4. To "go to h**l in a handbasket" means things are getting really awful in a hurry and there is nothing much anyone can do about it.

  5. you're going to h**l in a hand basket

Not merely "going to h**l", but going to h**l easily and rapidly; beyond hope.

Now you've REALLY gone and done it; you're going to h**l in a hand basket.

  6. It means just about everything is going wrong at one time, in one place. The correct expression is "Everything is going to h**l in a handbasket". It's meant to be the expanse of how horrible h**l is in a tiny little space, such us a hand basket.

So, summary: Everything that can go wrong, does go wrong, all at the same time and place.

  7. We're all going to h**l in a handbasket.

And it means that there's no changing it, it's happening, we're on the way.  We already did the bad thing.

  8. Means you are on a destructive path . . . see source below

  9. It's a funny way of saying that you did something "bad" and you're going to h**l for it. BTW you would need to say "We're all going..." instead of where ... & "meen" is not a word - it's "mean".

  10. Hahah well I guess it might be a metaphor for the end of time.  The 'in a hand basket portion', I think it just is there because its a catchy little phrase and it has good alliteration with h**l & hand.  I never really totally understood this one either, but its some thing maybe a grandmother would say.

  11. ive never heard of that one before. but i would guess that it means that "we are all going to h**l together" cuz a basket is basically used to hold a bunch of objects together in it so they dont go everywhere.

  12. "We're all going to h**l in a hand basket"

"We're all going to h**l with a hand basket"

  13. same as the **** just **** the fan...means summin bads happened or going to happen

  14. We're all going to h**l in a handbasket is a very old expression, one that my great-grandmother used. The "we" usually pertains to a very large group ... the country, the economy. It's an expression that would certainly have been in frequent use during the Great Depression.

  15. It means that in a group of people if one does something "bad" and the rest allow it to happen... the entire group is doomed.
