They are on the southern part of Asia's Mediterranean coast.

A homeland was created for Jews after WW II, right in the homes and hearths of Palestine, that was part of Kingdom of Trans-Jordan, then. It was so, just because prophet Moses led them to that land some 3 millennia before. After lot of fighting amongst the two with others like Egypt, Syria joining in, it was agreed to create 'Palestine'  (Falasteena) on the west bank (of Dead Sea), partly running through Jerusalem city and the tiny stamp sized Gaza (where the brawny Samson' lived and died) on Mediterranean coast bordering Egypt. The whole territory has the size of an American county.

Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel, which now declared Jerusalem (West) as their capital.Palestine declared Jerusalem (East) as their capital.

hey, both countries are located in the Middle East (southwestern Asia) next to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt.. Their practically 2 countries in one where the Jews claim its their land while the Pali's (and almost all the Arab nation) claim it their's. Israel is a country recognized by the UN since its declaration 1948, and its capital is Jerusalem.

Israel resides in the connection point between Africa and Asia.

Palestine is currently not recognized as a country by the UN and most countries, and it's proposed area is mainly areas that Israel conquered from Jordan and Egypt in 1967 (The west bank and Gaza strip respectively).

It claimed Jerusalem as its capital, but is claim is pretty much groundless, because it never owned it, and never had sovereignty over it.
