  1. It depends on which Winchester knife you buy...A Winchester knife from the 1940's backward, is a highly collectable knife, that was quality made and dependable....About the late 80's, the Winchester name was leased, and knives were made of great quality, with jigged bone handles, or stag, in limited editions, that now sell for $60 to $150 USD.....Now the company marketing knives under the Winchester name are making them in China, and they are medocre at best...If you find the 80's or original Winchester's, they are a good investment, but the market is flooded with the new ones, and it is doubtful that they will ever be worth much...

  2. G'Day mate don't buy anything from china it's c**p just get a buck knife they are really good.i brought a buck knife on e bay and it's fantastic. There  nothing wrong with e bay just be fussy where you buy it from and it cheaper to buy because of the seller not having any overheads to pay like rent for the shop ect.Winchester is u.s.a but i hear they sold it i think browning own it now so i don't know make there products. cheers mate

  3. The ones I seen are made in China,I would'nt buy one they are junk, look for a American company.

  4. I don't know where the actual assembly is but I do know from experience that Winchester brand knives are pretty cheaply made.

  5. The ones I've seen are stamped on the base of the blade 'China.'  They'll do in a pinch but are not what I would call 'high quality.'

  6. If they are like Buck's, some are still made here but, many models are also produced in China. The Buck's that are sold at Wal-Mart are manufactured in China.

  7. They appear to be made in the US.  Here's the company that makes them: http://www.s-denterprises.com/bluegrassc... .  I didn't look at every single Winchester knife, but all of the ones I did look at were made in the US.

I have one Winchester knife, and it's pretty sub-par.  But it was like $4 on clearance or something like that.  Whether or not their other knives are good, I really couldn't say.

Edit:  It's possible, even probable (most knife companies do it), that they may use different manufacturers with different countries of origin.  The Winchester knife I'm looking at at eknifeworks is not on that website.  Nor is the one I see hanging in Wal Mart.  So you'll probably want to look into the specific model(s) you have in mind.
