Where are all the older Plasma TV's?

Figuring that it is impossible for retailers to sell 100% of their stock, where do all the 2004, 05, 06 and so on go when they don't get sold? I'm not in retail, so forgive my ignorance!

I'm asking this b/c I am interested in getting a nice 42" plasma, but i don't need a "brand new one" (2008 model). I'd gladly settle on purchasing a 2005 TV if it was new or a demo. (Looking for a cheap alternative)

Any ideas where I could find one?

  1. Don't waste your money on old stock that has been laying around as you can bet it won't last long.

It will bite you in the bum if you have to repair it.

Keeping saving until you can put your money towards a new one , this way you get one with warranty that you can extend.

  2. If its that old, chances are you don't want it. Anything that is still laying around a retailer's floor or warehouse for too long will depreciate faster than it is worth. So it will be clearanced out, red taged, yellow tagged, etc. I have not seen or heard of a TV last more than a year in any retailer. If it has been a demo, it may have been there a little longer, and trust me, that is not a "good deal."

As a general rule, you are more likely going to get a better deal over last year's model just by waiting for a sale price or a reward coupon on the current model. And as an added bonus, you will get a box, and a return policy and a full manufacturers warranty.

  3. Type in "REFURBISHED TV"  in GOOGLE, and you'll see where they go.....

    Overstock.com gets them too....

So you could use "Overstock TV "in google....or any other search engine....

  4. well you could try buing it on ebay or amizon and sites like that or go to pc world or currys they sometimes have them
