Where are all the snooker players from?

I have played in pool tournaments for over 20yrs (in the US). I have run across very few snooker tables and have never seen a snooker tournament. But, I see a lot of questions regarding snooker. Where do all of the snooker players live (what country/state)? I have always been interested in snooker myself.

snooker is very,very big in the uk,other countries are australia,china,ireland,thailand.canada.... the moment in the uk the world snooker championships has being on for the past 17 days and today(monday) is the last day of the final. In the final it is ronnie o'sullivan(hot favourite to win) and ali carter...ronnie after the 1st day is leading 11-5 and needs 18 frames to win the title for the 3rd time.!!! check the 'world snooker' website to find out who wins!!!
