  1. On the outside walls of the banks.  Right on the street.  VERY easy to find!  make sure you have a card with FOUR digit pin number...they don't accept 5 digits in most.  You just find the one that matches the logo on your card...cirrus, plus, whatever.  Get money in fairly large amounts, as there is often a fee for using them, and it's a flat fee, not a percentage.  Make sure the card you are using has the lowest exchange fee possible, and don't get cash advances on your credit cards, they charge extra for that.

Every time you use a card you are charged an exchange fee (usually betw. 1 - 3%) and when you get cash, there's that pesky fee for using a machine NOT tied to your bank.  You should have an idea how much that is.

I used my credit card for most things, and cash machines when I ran out of cash.

Some smaller towns don't have any, but if you have cash in your pocket when you leave the big cities, you'll be fine.

    have a good trip.

  2. You will find them all over the place - street corners with or without a bank near by - near or in hotels..

  3. ATMs are everywhere here in Europe - banks, stores, malls the larger train stations and airports. There's even one in the parking lot at my office.

It is not true that your card has to have a four digit PIN number to work. My US ATM card and my Italian card have a different number of PIN digits and both work fine throughout Europe. However, your card may not work in some shops that accept them for payment.

  4. atms, out side of the banks, and by the undergrounds. It wont be hard, just ask, most places you wont have to go far to find an atm. Have fun on your trip.
