Where are burial sites of any pre Norman Conquest English monarchs?

Particularly of the 600 year dynasty of the House of Wessex both before and after unification, but also of other Kingdoms such as Mercia, Kent, Essex, Northumberland etc.

The tombs of Edward the Confessor, Harold Godwinson, and Alfred the Great seem to be around today, but where are all the others?

Surely the grave of a king would be preserved?

    St Augustine's Abbey in Canterbury, Kent, England was a royal burial site. One of the main purposes of the abbey right from the outset was as a burial place for the Kings of Kent.

    By royal tradition, Westminster Abbey was the final resting places for Kings of Essex, which Saebert of Essex supposedly founded. However, on the evidence of dating of the artefacts, the tomb, found in Prittlewell may be the burial chamber of Saebert.

    Sebbi of Essex died in 695 and was buried in Old St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London where he was revered as a saint.

    Oswiu of Northumbria was buried at Whitby Abbey, alongside Edwin of Deira.

    I assumed that Harold had been buried on Senlac Hill - the site of the Battle of Hastings!

    As for the others, I have no idea. . . .
