Portugal, there are loads and the reason for it is that many years ago the King married a lady from Norway and she moved to portugal but missed the snow, so the king declared that everyone had to plant a cherry tree so that when the blossom fell in the late spring she would feel at home and it would look like snow, ahhh how sweet, but its true there are hundreds of cherry trees in Portugal and they are stunning when they are in blossom and a lovley story to boot.

  7. ? I live in Sheffield and have a cherry tree up the garden in the opposite corner to the pear tree. Our local golf course has them all down the side of the first green. I guess the quality of fruit though depends on the soil and the feed.
