  1. I've never seen that area dry, for the lack of rain. Just the opposite.

    At the higher elevation they are more prone to get rain and snow before

    we do here in the valley. The more common areas for fire danger are

    further beyond in Warm Springs, on up to Bend and Sisters, Oregon.

    Any area suffering from lack of rain and the land is dry, is open season

    for fire danger. This is central Oregon. And eastern Oregon has the

    same conditions. But it's more flat and treeless. And open range for

    cattle ranches.


  2. Oregon has forest fire problems anywhere between the Washington and California borders. Also there is a lot of fire problems between the coast and Idaho.

    Some areas, like southern Oregon burn about every 5 to 10 yrs. Just enough time for a fresh crop of trees and brush come up, and it burns again.

    Even rainy coastal areas like Tillamook have forest fires, so be careful with anything with a hot ember or flame.
