Depends what you are looking for. For sit down two come to mind.

Au Pied du Cochon in Georgetown.

The Amphora in Vienna. It is open 24 hours. Now they have the usual breakfast stuff but also the fancier stuff that you would find at say a Sunday brunch. They also have most any sandwich or burger. But a cool thing is that if you want an entree like a steak or some pasta at 4:00 AM they have it.

Here is the real key though. Many times when you are out late walking in to a Denny's late night kind of spoils the mood with the service, loud people and because you are blinking your eyes since it is so bright.

The Amphora has table cloths, is more muted and is the same as walking into a restaurant at 8:00 PM. It definitly beats the whole fast food thing as well.

Annie's in Dupont Circle.  The french toast is very good.

Ben's Chilli Bowl located right outside of the U St. metro...their open almost 24 hours

Busboys and Poets and poets is also on U and 14th and I think they close at 2am
