Im looking to move down to brighton, but before I start to look for somewhere to buy I want to rent for a few months until I've settled in, so where would be a good place to live for around £300-£350 a month.

Im 19 and dont have a job offer from down there so I want somewhere that would be great for socializing but also that I could get a job relatively easily. (Im not fussy about jobs, just looking for anything till I settle down then I'm aiming for a cabin crew job)

Also somehwere relatively central, no more than 30 mins walk to the center or train station.

Cheers!

I live in Aberdeen just now, so I'm not familiar with any of the area.

  1. For the money you have to rent a place your not going to have anywhere nice for that amount to live on your own.

Also moving into a new area i would suggest that you rent a flat/house with other people.

For renting i would look on gumtree website or the newspaper Argus which have ad's where people are looking for new flat/house mates and i would look into seeking these people out.

If your looking to do cabin crew and need to be near the station Brighton or Hove would do and this can increase your scope for looking for somewhere to rent. Also with so many crew staff working down here and many driving you'll soon find yourself a lift into work.

There are many agency's which i would look to start applying for jobs, the best place would be on monster, so getting your CV in order and then they will send you emails daily telling you of the jobs your interested in and whats new each day. You then apply and then the relevant agency call you about the role and you take it from there.

Most places apart from the outer suburbs are within 30 mins walk from the train station.

    Hope this helps.

  2. all of brightons pretty safe  ,cheaper areas for accommodation are moulschome, lewis rd,hollingdean areas , bus service is 2nd to none ,best way to get about is a bike but get a good lock

  3. First question is g*y or straight? If g*y I'm told there are newspapers dedicated to finding accomodation and obviously has all the g*y haunts listed. Either way try tourist info Centre - very helpful. Will send out newsletters.

  4. Because of your budget you would have to house share in Brighton as singles flats start at around £500 per month.

Good areas for this money are ( i have listed them in order - the first being the best):

    Western/Church Road area of Hove

    Preston Park area

    5 Ways

    Kemp Town

    Hanover

These are great lively places for young people like yourselve and have many flats for sharing.  They are also very central and close to Brighton, Hove or Preston Park Station - all have access to Gatwick and London.
