For example, sunflower seeds are in the middle of the flower. Corn seeds are on the ear of corn. So where are lettuce seeds located on the plant? XD

  1. If you don't pick all your lettuce, and leave one plant to 'go to seed', a tall stalk will grow up with little flowers on it. The flowers will bloom. Then the flowers get whispy when they dry. Cut this part off and put it in a bag and shake. The seeds will be released by the fluffy flowers.

  2. Agreed. Lettuces are in the same family as dandelions (the Asteraceae), and believe it or not your average lettuce can be upto about 2m tall when flowering in the right conditions! The flowers are (usually) yellow, open only one day for a few hours, self-pollinate and set seed. Seed is attached to its own little "parachute" (pappus) and is wind-dispersed. Most commercial varities are not self-shattering, so previous answer's "shake in a bag" advice is good.
